Charge Chicago Lawn man with attempted murder

A 33-year-old Chicago Lawn man was charged with attempted murder after he was arrested at 1401 N. Ashland at 9:56 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Cory Dior Patterson, of the 3100 block of West 71st Street, was pointed out as the man who, about an hour earlier, allegedly pushed a 28-year-old man off a CTA Blue Line train platform in the 1200 block of North Milwaukee.

According to a published report, officers initially found Patterson hiding underneath a tarp outside a restaurant. He was placed in custody after a brief foot chase. As he was being arrested, he allegedly confessed to the crime. Four counts of aggravated battery were added after Patterson allegedly fought with officers apprehending him.
The victim survived the fall onto the tracks, but suffered a broken nose, fractured eye socket, two other facial fractures and a broken jaw, prosecutors said in court.
Bond was denied, and Patterson is in custody of the Cook County Department of Corrections. He is due in court Friday, Dec. 9.
According to public records, Patterson has been arrested 21 times by CPD since 2014 on charges that included failure to carry a driver’s license while driving, reckless driving, driving the wrong way down a one-way street, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to report an accident, criminal trespass to land, criminal damage to property, reckless conduct, violation of the terms of bail, assault, aggravated assault, battery and aggravated battery.
