Victor T. Capizzi, 104, of Evergreen Park, passed away July 26.

He was the beloved husband of the late Helen; loving father of Linda (Edward Scott) Dentz, Dolores, Wayne (Marilyn), Keith “Jake” (Linda), Steve (Andrea), and Craig Capizzi; cherished grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of five; fond brother of the late Joseph (late Bea) Cappy, the late Grace (late Michael) Filicaro, and the late Albert (late Olivia) Cappy; also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was August 2 at Kosary Funeral Home, 9837 S. Kedzie, Evergreen Park. Funeral services were August 3 at Most Holy Redeemer Church for Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Kay P. O’Connor (nee Shisler), age 87, a former longtime Gage Park resident, passed away July 27.

Born Nov. 12, 1934, in Chicago, Mrs. O’Connor grew up in Gage Park—near 52nd and Christiana–attending Tonti Elementary School and then Gage Park High School. In the early 1950s she worked briefly as a classified ad-taker for the Southwest News-Herald, then headquartered at 5845 S. Kedzie.

She married John J. O’Connor, a policeman, and together they raised six children in the community.

Initially a full-time homemaker, she later worked for more than 20 years in a University of Illinois at Circle Campus bookstore, in the West Side’s medical district. She retired in 1998.

For most of her life, she was a member of Elsdon United Methodist Church, 5258 S. Christiana.

From 1966-2002, she owned a home near 56th and St. Louis, across the street from Senka Park. She moved to Orland Park, and most recently lived in Monticello, Ind.

In addition to being the wife of the late John J. O’Connor, Mrs O’Connor was the wife of the late Eugene Tyrakowski. She was the mother of Kurt, Tarin (Joseph) Sullivan, Kelleen (James) Kenny, Brad, and the late Ryan and the late Mark. She was the grandmother of 15 and the great-grandmother of 16.

Services were Aug. 1 from Becvar & Son Funeral Home & Cremation, Crestwood. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery, Evergreen Park.

Patricia A. Oraham (nee Archambault), age 64, passed away July 18.

Beloved wife of Ted for 44 years; loving mother of Ted III (Jessica), Anthony (Christina) and Tina Oraham; devoted grandmother of Penelope, Zechariah and Zion; dear sister of Rex (Kimberly) Archambault, Karen (Raymond) Brullo and Debra (Martin) Keating; fond aunt of Martin III, Zachary, Nicole, Vincent and Brianna.

Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Matthew is a retiree of National Can Company and was an avid fisherman.

Barry Goldstein (June); stepmother to Roshanda Humphrey; aunt to Michael Perez (Yvonne). Preceded in death by her parents Martin and Josephine Tomich and sister, Joan Perez. Grandmother of 10, great grandmother of 5; great aunt of 3; loving partner to Grady A. Humphrey. Visitation was held July 28 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W.
