Storm scrambles waste pickup in Palos Park
On Wednesday afternoon, the Village of Palos Park was informed by Republic Services that waste pickup is cancelled in the village, and all other communities they serve, for Thursday, February 3, due to the continued closure of landfill sites from the hazardous winter conditions.
Thursday waste service customers will need to hold their garbage until Thursday, February 10.
Refuse service for February 3 is cancelled. Refuse will be picked up on Thursday, February 10.
Refuse service for Friday, February 4, will be picked up as regularly scheduled.
Due to the landfill closures from the winter storms the Recycling Schedule is as follows:
- If your refuse pickup is on Fridays and you live west of LaGrange and east of 104th Avenue, your recycle will be picked up on Friday, Feb. 11
- If your refuse pickup is on Fridays and you live west of 104th, your recycle will be picked up on Friday, Feb. 4
- If your refuse pickup is on Thursdays and you live east of 86th Avenue, your recycle will be picked up next week on Thursday, Feb. 10
- If your refuse pickup is on Thursdays and you live west of 86th Avenue and east of LaGrange, your recycle will be picked up next week on Thursday, Feb. 10
