Rosary Hill Home, the Justice nursing home run by the Dominican Sisters, is marking 90 years of caring for older residents.

The home at 9000 W. 81st St. was founded in 1936. It is a private long-term care and respite facility operated by the Dominican Sisters, Immaculate Conception Province.

Families, friends and residents marked the milestone at the home’s annual Family Appreciation Picnic, held Sunday, Sept. 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year’s theme honored the home’s 90 years of service.

The day opened with an outdoor Mass. Sisters, staff and volunteers prepared a picnic lunch, and the afternoon included games for children and adults, plus raffles.

“We are blessed with wonderful residents and families and are thrilled to celebrate 90 years of caring for residents at our Rosary Hill Home community,” said Sister Natalie, OP, the home’s administrator. “We look forward to continuing our mission of ‘living the truth, serving others in love’ through the loving compassionate care of our residents for many years to come.”

The Dominican Sisters’ mission is to proclaim the truth of the Gospel to those in greatest need.

Staff help residents with routine personal tasks and provide nursing care, along with daily spiritual support and pastoral presence. Residents eat home-cooked meals, take part in daily activities and holiday events, watch performances by the activities team and spend time outside on the grounds and gardens. Mass is offered daily.
