The Caravan led 24-21 late in the third quarter but couldn’t hang on in the South Side rivalry game, falling 35-24. Marshaun Thornton had 12 catches for 120 yards and a TD.
3. Lyons (5-1) 3
Cole Harris threw for three touchdowns and Jack Williams ran for two scores in a 56-6 win against Proviso West.
4. Sandburg (4-2) 6
Sean Ruisz passed for three touchdowns, including the game-winner with 12 seconds left, in a 21-17 victory against Lincoln-Way Central.
5. St. Rita (3-3) 8
Brandon Johnson Jr. ran for four touchdowns and Griffin Sinkovich kicked three field goals in a 39-38 win against Montini.
6. Marist (3-3) 4
Jake Fleming threw for 287 yards and two TDs, including 167 yards and a score to his brother Conor, in a 42-12 loss to Loyola.
7. Nazareth (2-4) 5
JJ Chapman threw two touchdown passes to Charles Heck, including an 83-yarder, but the Roadrunners fell 25-22 to St. Francis.
8. Oak Lawn (6-0) 7
The Spartans survived four turnovers and beat Evergreen Park 21-14 in overtime, clinching it on James Chorney’s interception in OT.
9. Richards (4-2) 9
Eric Jacobs returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown, threw a 29-yard TD pass and ran for a third score as the Bulldogs beat Eisenhower 35-6.
10. Riverside-Brookfield (5-1) NR
Braeden Novak accounted for three touchdowns as the Bulldogs won their fifth straight, 48-6 against Elmwood Park.
