Another big day for the Fleming brothers powered Marist to a 48-7 Catholic League crossover win at Marmion on Sept. 18.
Jake Fleming hit Conor Fleming with touchdown passes of 27 and 10 yards to start the scoring.
“They have years and years and years of chemistry from playing in the backyard and growing up together,” Marist coach Mike Fitzgerald said. “They’re always on the same page and they’ve got just a really good thing going. They know what the other one is thinking.
“It’s just good to have receivers and quarterbacks on the same page like that. I feel like all of our receivers actually have done a really good job of focusing on the little details and getting to the right spots at the right time.”
Jake Fleming (7 of 9 passing, 151 yards) also found Chase Tylka for a 52-yard TD pass. Conor Fleming finished with four catches for 87 yards.
Backup quarterback Jack Bullington (5 of 6 passing, 54 yards, two TDs), Eddie Dougherty (2-yard run) and Jonathan Fields (fumble return) also contributed to the scoring for the RedHawks (3-2).
Bradley-Bourbonnais 41, Andrew 14: Ian Lopez caught a 15-yard TD pass from Jimmy Reilly and Justice Brooks recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for visiting Andrew (2-3, 1-2 SouthWest Suburban).
Brother Rice 63, Notre Dame 28: Quarterbacks Sam Holcomb (11 of 14 passing, 179 yards, three TDs) and Rocco Galasso (9 of 11, 117 yards, two rushing TDs) paced visiting Brother Rice (3-2). Lucas Strang (4 receptions, 99 yards, TD), Kameron McGee (pick-six) and Aydan Yarbrough (99-yard kickoff return) also contributed.
Chicago Christian 27, Marian Central 12: Tyce Hamstra threw for two scores and ran for another to lead host Chicago Christian (2-3, 1-2 Chicagoland Christian). Hamstra’s TD passes went to Levi Jager and Isaac Workman. Luke Kracinski added a TD run for the Knights.
Eisenhower 33, Argo 0: Verdell Walls had 132 all-purpose yards for visiting Argo (0-5, 0-2 South Suburban Red).
Glenbard West 37, Lyons 16: Brendan McCabe (10 of 22 passing, 121 yards) threw TD strikes of 42 yards to Owen Matela and 2 yards to EJ Kuhlman for host Lyons (4-1, 1-1 West Suburban Silver.
Lincoln-Way East 38, Sandburg 17: Visiting Sandburg (3-2, 0-2 SouthWest Suburban), which led 14-0 in the first quarter, had TD runs from Sean Ruisz and Nate Owei.
Mount Carmel 55, St. Patrick 7: Nathan Samuels scored on runs of 31 and 76 yards for visiting Mount Carmel (4-1) in the CCL crossover. Brady Cloherty threw TD passes of 22 yards to Matthew Winkler and 97 yards to Marshaun Thornton. Jamarri Thompson (65-yard run) and Marcel Stokes-Ford (37-yard run) also scored, while backup QB Thomas Elliott passed for two scores, including another Winkler TD.
Richards 40, Oak Forest 21: Eric Jacobs was 6 of 10 passing for 159 yards and three touchdowns for visiting Richards (3-2). Jacobs threw scoring passes to Isaiah Flowers (36 yards), Naquan Griffin (21 yards) and Logan Sales (31 yards). Sales finished with three catches for 91 yards. Jordan Lewis had 14 carries for105 yards and three TDs, while Marquis Charles added 95 yards on 12 attempts.
Riverside-Brookfield 49, Fenton 20: Braeden Novak passed for 242 yards and three TDs and ran for 68 yards and two scores for host R-B (4-1, 3-0 Upstate Eight East).
St. Ignatius 42, St. Rita 16: John Fennell threw an 8-yard TD pass to Timmy Swanson for host St. Rita (2-3) and had 121 total yards. Donivan Campbell (12 carries, 90 yards, TD) also scored for the Mustangs.
St. Laurence 56, De La Salle 6: Noah Taylor ran for two TDs and passed for another for host St. Laurence (1-4). Liam Kirchhardt (27-yard run), Sean Rice, Dakarai Simmons and Finn Crotty also added rushing TDs for the Vikings. Kameron Mosley ran for a TD for De La Salle (0-5).
