Orland Park’s Great Pumpkin Party returns Oct. 3 with pony rides, games, and costume contest.

The Great Pumpkin Party is back. Orland Park will host the fall event Saturday, Oct. 3 at Centennial Park, 15600 West Ave., in two sessions: 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The event is geared toward children ages 1 to 9. Each session includes pony rides, horse-drawn carriage rides, train rides, a weave-in maze, inflatables, a DJ, games, and a trunk-or-treat. Food and beverages are available for purchase.

Registration is required. Residents and non-residents pay $7 per child (ages 3 and older); children 2 and under are free. Each registered child receives a pie-sized pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and a goodie bag. Service fees apply at checkout.

Children can enter the free costume contest by meeting at the DJ station at 11 a.m. (morning session) or 2 p.m. (afternoon session). Prizes go to Best Costume and Most Creative Costume.

The event is rain-or-shine. No refunds or credits will be issued if it is canceled.
