Jose M. Vargas, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026.
He was the beloved husband of Maria Rosa Elena (née Cordova) and the loving father of Serafin (late Herminda Paz) Vargas, Margarita Vargas, Armando Vargas, Jose L. Vargas, Mario (Susana) Vargas, Fabian (Nancy) Vargas, Patricia Vargas, and Roberto Vargas.
He was the cherished grandfather of 17 and the fond brother and uncle to many.
Visitation: Friday, August 21, 2026, 4 to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Avenue (55th Street just west of Harlem).
Visitation and Funeral: Saturday, August 22, 2026, 7:30 a.m. until time of Prayers at 8:15 a.m. at Foran Funeral Home. Procession to St. Agnes of Bohemia Church for 9 a.m. Mass.
Interment: Resurrection Cemetery.
