Aurelio Napoles passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, July 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He was married to his best friend, Mary Ellen Lopez, for 53 years. He was a loving, devoted, cherished father of four children: the late Bonnie Lopez, Priscilla (Carlos) Campos, Jose (Samantha) Napoles, and Marco (Cary) Napoles.
He was the proud grandfather of Bianca Estrada, Joshua Connolly, Jena Napoles, Jayden Napoles, Sofia Napoles, Damian Campos, Elliot Napoles, Giana Campos, Janelle Campos, Mavis Napoles, and Izabella Napoles and the great-grandfather of Mateo Napoles.
He was the dear brother of Rosario (Nicholas) Torres and Leandro (Lucila) Napoles and the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Throughout his life, Aurelio embodied the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. He made every person he interacted with feel like the most important person in the room, always joking and offering truthful advice and help. His wit, charm, generous spirit, invaluable guidance, and keen sense of humor will be greatly missed by all. Aurelio lived his life to the fullest, and the world is a better place because of him.
Visitation: Thursday, July 30, 2026, 4 to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th Street just west of Harlem), Chicago, Illinois.
Funeral: Friday, July 31, 2026, 8:30 a.m. Visitation at the funeral home until 9:30 a.m., when prayers begin. Procession to St. Albert the Great Church for 10:30 a.m. Mass.
Interment: Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, next to his beloved daughter.
