Orland Park trustees on Tuesday unanimously approved a contract with ME Simpson and Company, Incorporated, for water main scanning and assessment services, with an option to extend for two additional years.
The initial contract is valued at $750,000, with an option to extend for two years at $300,000 per year, for a potential total of $1.35 million.
The motion was made by Trustee John Lawler.
Mayor Dodge noted that ME Simpson is a long-standing village contractor.
“ME Simpson’s been doing work for the village for a very long time, one of our main contractors in the water system,” he said.
The scanning work will use PCAT technology to assess the condition and integrity of the village’s water mains.
