Truck driver gets four tickets

A 37-year-old man was cited for four violations after police pulled him over at 78th Avenue and 87th Street on June 21 at 10:14 a.m. for lacking a safety inspection sticker on his trailer.

Aldo Torres-Aguilar was charged with having an overweight load, not displaying a safety inspection sticker, unsafe tires and inadequate brakes. He was fined $602 for carrying a load that exceeded the legal weight limit by 2,040 pounds. He was driving a white 2001 GMC pickup.

Driving on a suspended license

After Adam P. Vaughn, 32, was pulled over in the 7900 block of Roberts Road on June 21 at 6:09 p.m., he received two tickets.

Police stopped him because the registration on his white 1998 Ford was issued for a red 2016 Chevy. He was charged with driving on a suspended license and unlawful use of registration.

‘Late for work’ nets speeding ticket

A man who told police he was speeding because he was running late for work got three tickets.

Salvador Zavala-Estrada, 27, was pulled over in the 8600 block of Roberts Road on June 22 at 9:24 a.m. Radar showed he was driving 59 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone in his blue 2021 Hyundai.

He was charged with speeding, driving on a suspended license, and having an obstructed view due to a tinted windshield.

Speeding ticket for driver on Archer

Anuththara S. Gangoda, 34, told police she did not know she was speeding. She was cited for speeding on June 22 at 4:31 p.m. in the 7500 block of Archer.

Police said she was driving 72 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone in her black 2015 Ford Mustang.

Overweight truck leads to charges

Thomas Manasses, 76, was pulled over in the 6700 block of Archer on June 25 at 10:05 a.m. after police noticed his white 2018 Ford box truck lacked a safety inspection sticker.

He was charged with not having a valid safety inspection sticker, driving on an expired registration, not having valid registration, and driving without insurance. He was also fined $480 for carrying an overweight load.

Speeding ticket for driver dropping off dog

A man hurrying to drop off his dog landed in hot water.

Richard C. Bania, 34, was cited for speeding on June 26 at 10:56 a.m. in the 7200 block of Archer after radar clocked him at 72 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone.

He was driving a silver 2002 Volvo. Bania told police he was running late and trying to drop off his dog before catching a flight.
