Matthew T. Christian, 30, of Tinley Park, was arrested on Aug. 22 and charged with retail theft at Jewel, 9350 W. 159th St. Police said they received a call from store officials who said they saw Christian running out of the store with a basket of Red Bull energy drinks. According to the police report, police located his vehicle and found the Red Bull products. He was fined $300, received a lifetime ban from Jewel and had an optional court date scheduled for Oct. 6.
Retail theft
Anita Mendoza, 61, of the 9800 block of El Camino Lane in Orland Park, was arrested on Aug. 5 and charged with retail theft at Kohl’s, 3 Orland Park Pl. Police said that they assisted a drone pilot on a call of service from Kohl’s that there was a theft in progress. According to the police report, Mendoza was located and they found her in possession of several bags containing $884.72 worth of unpaid merchandise. She was arrested and was given an Aug. 6 hearing date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
Disorderly conduct
Fuad Yusef, 36, of Tinley Park, was arrested on Aug. 25 and charged with disorderly conduct on Regen Drive. Police said they received a suspicious person call on Aug. 24 of a man with a beard and black shirt standing outside a residence for 10 minutes. According to the police report, police located Yusef and he said he was waiting to meet with someone. The next day, police said, the people in the house with the complaint came to the police station and showed them a video from their Ring camera of Yusef with his shirt lifted up and his shorts down to his knees. Police said he was fully exposed and taking his photo on a cell phone. When police finally made contact with Yusef, he was arrested and has a mandatory hearing scheduled for Oct. 6 at the Orland Park Village Hall.
Reckless driving
Hakeem Ramahi, 28, of the 15400 block of Sunset Ridge Drive in Orland Park, was arrested on July 30 and charged with reckless driving and two other offenses at 7830 W. 159th St. Police said that they stopped Ramahi for not having a front registration plate. According to the police report, he had tried to evade the police and sped through a parking lot and when they finally caught up with him, they noticed an odor of fresh raw cannabis emitting from the car. Police said that he accused the officers of profiling him but admitted to not having the front plate. He was arrested and had a Sept. 8 court date scheduled in the Fifth Municipal District Court.
DUI
Antonio Martino, 54, of the 11000 block of 168th Street in Orland Park, was arrested on Aug. 16 and charged with driving under the influence and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident on 167th Street and Wolf Road. Police said they were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident and when they spoke to the driver, Martino, they said his breath smelled of alcohol. After failing a sobriety test and not wanting to take any others, Martino was arrested and had a court date of Sept. 2 scheduled at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
