Driving without a license
A 27-year-old man pulled over in the 7900 block of Archer Avenue at 2:12 p.m. on June 3 received tickets for driving with suspended registration due to lack of insurance, driving without insurance, and driving on a suspended license.
Driver charged with aggravated speeding
A 53-year-old man was charged with aggravated speeding after he was clocked at 81 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone on La Grange Road near Interstate 294. He was pulled over at 2:31 p.m. on June 4.
Credit card fraud
A 39-year-old woman reported that her credit card was used in a skimming scam at the Exxon Gas Station, 8369 Archer Ave., around 12:30 p.m. on May 30.
While pumping gas, the woman noticed a dark-colored vehicle parked nearby with two occupants. She thought it suspicious that neither person got out to pump gas.
Approximately four hours later, her debit card was used at a Sonic restaurant at 29th Street and Cicero Avenue. She believes a skimming device was used to obtain her debit card number and PIN.
Speeding driver ticketed
A 20-year-old driver was charged with speeding and driving on a suspended license at 7:57 p.m. on June 6. A 2022 Kia Caravan was pulled over in the 8200 block of Archer after radar clocked it at 54 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone.
Fraud results in $600 loss
A 65-year-old woman in the 10800 block of Ursula Drive reported that someone had been using her Amazon account across the country.
When balancing her checkbook on June 3, she discovered she was $600 short. Her debit card had been used in Michigan, Denver, Arizona, and Pennsylvania.
After contacting her bank, she learned two accounts had been opened in her name with Amazon. Police are investigating.
One headlight, two tickets
A 19-year-old man was pulled over at Archer and Willow Springs Road at 3:11 a.m. on June 9 for driving with one working headlight. He was charged with improper lighting and driving on a suspended license.
Traffic stop leads to four tickets
A 21-year-old man received four tickets after a traffic stop at 9:07 p.m. on June 5 at La Grange Road and Archer Avenue.
He was charged with driving with suspended registration due to lack of insurance, driving on a suspended license, driving without a seat belt, and driving without insurance.
Traffic stop nabs sex offender
A 27-year-old man was arrested on a Cook County Sheriff’s Police warrant for aggravated criminal sexual abuse after he was pulled over for suspended registration at 4:36 p.m. on June 4 in the 8300 block of South Willow Springs Road.
He was transported to the Justice lockup and then to Cook County Jail.
Outdoor decorations stolen
Wooden decorations for a woman’s 65th birthday were stolen from the front yard of her home in the 8600 block of Wolf Road between noon and 8 p.m. on June 4.
The decorations—six butterflies and six hearts—were valued at $200.
