Eric Charles Pfluegner

Eric Charles Pfluegner, born on December 4, 1994, in Berwyn, Illinois, passed away on June 17, 2026, in Palos Hills, Illinois. He was 31.

Eric was a loving, kind, and selfless soul whose gentle light warmed all who knew him. He lived his life with a generous heart and a steadfast spirit, and though his days were far too few, the measure of his goodness was great indeed.

He was the beloved son of Darrell and Karin Pfluegner and the cherished brother of Sydney, who was his best friend and constant companion. Their bond was one of rare and tender strength, for they spent their days together in laughter, loyalty, and shared comfort. He loved his family deeply and was happiest when near them, whether in simple conversation, daily company, or the warm fellowship of home. He was a devoted son to his mother and spent much time with his father as well, finding joy in the steady presence of those who loved him first and best. He was held close in memory and affection by his late grandparents, Gaylord and Joan Allred, and Eugene and Adeline Pfluegner, whose legacy lived on in the character and tenderness he showed throughout his life.

Many friends counted themselves blessed to know him, for he was the sort of friend who gave without measure, listened without judgment, and remained loyal in every season. His friendship was a shelter, and his kindness was a lantern in darkened places.

Eric pursued his education at Moraine Valley Community College, carrying into his studies the same earnestness that marked all he did. He was a Christian, and his faith was part of the quiet strength that shaped his days. In him, one could see a heart inclined toward goodness, patience, and compassion.

He was a history buff of the highest order, with deep knowledge of World War II and the Vietnam War, speaking of such matters with a depth and enthusiasm that revealed both curiosity and reverence for the past. He delighted in Xbox, bike riding, listening to music, fishing, and mowing the lawn, finding contentment in both lively recreation and the simple labors of an ordinary day. He loved Chicago sports with the passion of a true and faithful fan, standing proudly with the Cubs, Bears, and Bulls.

His life was marked not by grandeur alone, but by devotion, and by the daily acts of love that make a life memorable. He was loving in his embrace, kind in his speech, and selfless in his deeds. Though death has closed the book of his earthly years, the story of his goodness remains written in the lives he touched. His family and friends shall carry him in their hearts, and speak his name with affection, gratitude, and tears mingled with smiles.

May he rest in peace, and may those who mourn him find comfort in the knowledge that his life was a blessing, his presence a gift, and his memory a treasure beyond price.
