A 26-year-old Joliet woman was charged June 26 with driving under the influence after police stopped her vehicle on LaGrange Road.
Police said Emily Esparza, of the 2500 block of Cass Street, Joliet, pulled into a parking lot in the 14700 block of LaGrange Road with only one working headlight. Officers observed her squatting outside the vehicle before she returned to the driver’s seat.
When the vehicle pulled back onto LaGrange Road, police followed and stopped it near 143rd Street after the car failed to maintain a straight path and nearly struck the curb several times.
Esparza told police she had consumed two beers at a bar. She failed all field sobriety tests.
Esparza was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, driving with a breath alcohol content over .08, and improper motor vehicle headlights.
