Benjamin Prado Gomez passed away Friday morning, June 12, 2026.
He is survived by his current wife, Alma A. Jasso Pedroza. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irma Prado Ortega, who passed away in 2009.
Benjamin was the cherished father of Inocencio (Chato) and his wife Candace, Marco Antonio, Griselda and her husband Leonard, Eduardo and his wife Claudia De La Mora, and Irma Lissete and her husband Brian Perez. He was a much-loved grandfather of Brandan Prado, Alyce Prado, Dario Gomez, Giselle Gomez, Noah Gomez, Valentina Prado, Camila Prado, Lucia Prado, Isla Prado, Violet Prado, Naima Perez, Arlo Perez, and Sofia Prado. He was a proud great-grandfather of Amelia Prado and Aliza Prado.
Benjamin was the dear brother of Inocencio Prado Gomez, Maria De Jesus Prado Gomez, and Maria De La Paz Prado Gomez, and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Throughout his life, Benjamin embodied the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. He retired as a UAW union member from Electromotive, a division of General Motors. He will be remembered for his honesty, loyalty, and optimism, which earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
Visitation: Wednesday, June 17, 2026, 4 to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th Street just west of Harlem).
Service in Celebration of Life: 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Per his request, Benjamin will return to his beloved Mexico and be buried there.
