Mieczyslaw Nienajadlo

Mieczyslaw Nienajadlo, known to many as Mietek or Mitch, passed away on June 5, 2026, in Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 73.

He was born on November 10, 1952, in Stalowa Wola, Poland, where he began a life shaped by hard work, family, and faith. He carried the values of his upbringing with him throughout his life and built a reputation as a man who was funny, handy, and loving. Those who knew him will remember his warm presence, his steadfast nature, and the easy way he could bring a smile to those around him.

Mietek made his home in Chicago, where he worked as a construction worker before retiring, and he took pride in his work and in the skills he developed. He was the kind of man who could fix what was broken, lend a helping hand, and find solutions when others needed them.

Above all, Mietek was devoted to his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Antoni and Anna Nienajadlo. He is survived by his loving partner, Teresa, and his daughters, Emilia, Maggie and Beata. He also leaves behind his sister, Janina, with her husband Joe, their sons and their families; his sister Stanislawa; and his brothers Tadeusz and Jan. He is further survived by remaining family here in Chicago and in Poland, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

In his free time, Mietek enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life meaningful. He loved cooking, gardening, fishing, or just sitting on his swing in the backyard with his beloved Tygrys and Pusia. He also enjoyed watching Chicago sports and cheering for his teams, often with enthusiasm and good humor. He especially appreciated having a good laugh, and his sense of humor was one of the many things that made him so memorable. Whether he was sharing a story, preparing a meal, or spending time outdoors, he found joy in the everyday moments that brought people together.

Mietek will be remembered for the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the strength he showed throughout his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply missed.
