Robert John Bussey, a trade show and logistics industry veteran known for his warmth and ability to connect with people, died May 26.
Mr. Bussey worked for United, GES, and BWS Logistics and was a longtime member of the International Air Cargo Association of Chicago. Colleagues became friends through his genuine interest in others and his insightful questions.
He is survived by his wife, Melany Bayley; his son, Miles; his siblings, Teresa (Wes) Weston, Steve (Laura) Bussey, Timothy (Chrissy) Bussey, and Anne Kresler; his in-laws, Rhonda Bayley, John and Debbie Bayley, Angela Bayley, and Andrew Morris; 13 nieces and nephews; and 8 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Roseann Bussey.
Mr. Bussey was a music enthusiast who attended concerts and participated in Album Side Saturday Night (ASSN), a group that gathered to listen to records. He enjoyed grilling, rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals, and spending time in Chicago.
A celebration of his life will be held June 6 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Rhine VFW Post, 5858 S. Archer Avenue, Chicago. Parking is available across the street at the Shop N Save lot.
