Thaddeus J. “Ted” Bojanowski Jr., a Summit resident who served as the village’s Community Development Director and was a respected attorney and civic leader, died May 15, 2026. He was 91.
Bojanowski was a member of the Illinois Bar Association and served as Community Development Director for the Village of Summit. He was also a past member of the Summit Chamber of Commerce.
An avid book collector with a passion for knowledge and music, Mr. Bojanowski was known for his dedication to serving his community.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly, whom he married; three children, David, Laura and Jill Torres Bojanowski; and three grandchildren, Jackson and Scott Bojanowski, and Octavio Torres Bojanowski. His daughter Amy and his brother Richard preceded him in death. He is also survived by his sister Maryellen Harrington.
Bojanowski was a veteran of the United States Army.
A memorial visitation was held May 23 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave., with a service of remembrance at 3:30 p.m.
