Zoe Pomonis, a homemaker devoted to her family and her Greek Orthodox faith, died May 10 in Park Ridge, Illinois. She was 79.
She was born July 7, 1946, in Greece and was a member of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Justice, Illinois.
Pomonis raised her daughter and later spent time with her grandchildren. She loved music and family gatherings.
She is survived by her husband, Panagioti Pomonis; her grandson, Thomas Georgopoulos, and his wife, Marina; her son-in-law, Demetri Timoleontos; her brother, Andonis Katsanevakis, and his wife, Christina; her sister-in-law, Marcie Papadakis; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Chrisoula Timoleontos; her brothers, Michali Papadakis and Vasili Papadakis; her sister, Sophia Kriarakis; and her brother-in-law, George Kriarakis.
A visitation and funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 19, at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 7560 S. Archer Road, Justice, Illinois, with the service beginning at 10:30 a.m.
