Food lovers in Oak Lawn will have nearly two weeks to explore local flavors, discover new favorites and support hometown businesses during the third annual Oak Lawn Restaurant Week this June.

Organized by the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce, the event runs June 3-14 and features restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries and casual dining spots across the village offering special menu items and discounts for customers who mention Oak Lawn Restaurant Week or show the official event flyer.

Chamber officials described the event as an unofficial kickoff to summer and a way to highlight Oak Lawn’s growing food scene while encouraging residents to shop locally.

“The Village of Oak Lawn has many exciting eating, drinking and fine dining establishments,” said Anne M. Fritz, executive director of the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce.

Encore Car Wash is serving as the major sponsor for the second consecutive year.

A kickoff event is planned for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, at Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant. Advance registration is required because space is limited.

More restaurants are expected to join before the event begins, according to the chamber, which encouraged residents to follow updates through its website and social media pages.
