Carrie Bernardoni of Justice has been named Senior State President of the Illinois Society of the Children of the American Revolution for the 2026–2028 term, taking the helm of the nation’s oldest patriotic youth organization.

In her new role, Bernardoni will lead the state society in promoting patriotism, leadership, service, and education among young people across Illinois. She brings to the position a deep family commitment to the organization: all three of her children serve on the state board this year, and her oldest daughter, Ceci, currently serves as National Vice President of the Great Lakes Region.

“Their dedication and enthusiasm make this year especially meaningful to our family,” Bernardoni said.

The Children of the American Revolution, open to descendants of those who aided in achieving American independence, focuses on developing leadership skills while honoring the principles of faith, service, and love of country.

This year, the Illinois Society is launching “Helping Heroes Heal,” a state project supporting veterans with PTSD in need of service dogs. Working alongside State President McKenzie, I.S.C.A.R. members will partner with K9s For Veterans, an organization that provides trained service dogs and support to veterans.

The group will also support the National C.A.R. Project, Liberty’s Legacy: America 250, which highlights the role young people played during the American Revolution and encourages today’s youth to connect with that history.
