Aniela Kowalczyk, a longtime Chicago area resident, died April 25, 2026. She was 91.
She is survived by four children: Boguslaw Kowalczyk, Anna Borowski, Celina Kmiecik and Roman Kowalczyk; 11 grandchildren: Dariusz Kowalczyk, Wieslaw Kowalczyk, Renata Markuaskas, Robert Borowski, Aneta Borowski, Matthew Kmiecik, Christopher Kmiecik, Julia Kmiecik, Michelle Kowaletti, Eric Kowalczyk and Jozef Kowalczyk; 14 great-grandchildren: Adam, Karol, Anna, Lukasz, Ela, Emilia, Aleksander, Annika, Aaliyah, Olivia, Evie, Nathan and two others; and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jozef Kowalczyk; her parents, Anna and Jozef Nykaza; and her siblings, Helena, Jan, Franciszek, Andrzej, Jozefa, Maria and Anna.
Kowalczyk was born Aniela Nykaza.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice, Illinois.
A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 29, at 10 a.m. at Saint Fabian Church, 7450 W. 83rd St., Bridgeview, Illinois. Prayers and a procession will begin at the funeral home at 9 a.m.
Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois.
