A Chicago man has been arrested for breaking into video gaming machines at Just My Luck Bar in December, Oak Lawn police said Tuesday.
Dionus Neely, 21, of the 10200 block of South Forest Avenue in Chicago, was indicted April 6 for the December 9 burglary and formally processed by Oak Lawn police on April 20, police said.
Police said they were dispatched to a burglar alarm at 4:15 a.m. on December 9 to Just My Luck Bar, 9427 S. Cicero Avenue.
Police said they discovered a burglary had occurred. Video surveillance showed five men were inside the business during the burglary. The men targeted video gaming terminals. Cash was taken and several gaming machines were damaged.
Police said they identified Neely during their investigation. He was already in custody at the Cook County Jail on an unrelated matter when charges were approved.
He was charged with burglary (Class 2 Felony), theft/unauthorized control greater than $10,000 and less than $100,000 (Class 2 Felony), and criminal damage to property greater than $10,000 and less than $100,000 (Class 3 Felony).
Detectives have been working with neighboring police departments into a rash of burglaries and break-ins of gaming machines since December.
Two Chicago teens were arrested earlier this year for break-ins at bars in Oak Lawn and Worth.
