The Palos Heights Woman’s Club held a blood drive Wednesday at the Palos Heights Community Center.

The event took place at 6601 W. 127th Street. While appointments were preferred, walk-ins were welcome throughout the day.

“We have great support from the local community,” said Susan DeKoker, a Palos Heights Woman’s Club member.

Mary Anne Browne, of Palos Heights, donated blood at the event. “I like to give blood often. I heard about this event and wanted to be a part of it,” she said.

Donors could sign up in advance through the Versiti blood donation website.

The drive aimed to support local hospitals and patients in need of blood donations, continuing the club’s tradition of community service.
