On September 17, at 8:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to 6605 W. Monee-Manhattan Road to assist another officer with a stolen vehicle report. Upon arrival, they were flagged down by an employee victim, who showed the officers his vehicle, which had the passenger side window smashed out. Part of the ignition system was sitting on the passenger seat. Officers were able to locate another vehicle in the same condition. The initial call was a stolen vehicle; it appears the offenders were probing the parking lot for easy steals. The theft and criminal damage to property is being investigated by Monee Detectives.
On September 19, at 4:10 p.m., a traffic stop led to the arrest of Destiny Collins, 26, of Country Club Hills. Collins was charged with speeding over posted limit and driving while her license is suspended. She was subsequently released with a notice-to-appear.
On September 19, at 11:30 p.m., a traffic stop led to the arrest of Michael Thomas, 42, of Lansing. Thomas was charged with operating a motor vehicle when registration is suspended for non-insurance and driving while his license is suspended. He was subsequently released with a notice-to-appear.
On September 23, at 4:19 p.m., a traffic stop led to the arrest of Justin Turner, 38, of Robbins. Turner was charged with operating a motor vehicle when registration is suspended and driving while his license is suspended. He was subsequently released with a notice-to-appear.
