Zachary’s Grill in Palos Heights is closed until further notice, according to a sign taped to the restaurant’s front door.

Calls to the restaurant at 13415 S. Ridgeland Ave. went unanswered. Owner Zach Kubiak did not respond to an email asking what was going on with the establishment that has been open since 2015.

A message on its Facebook page posted August 11 said the restaurant was without power but no new messages have been posted.

Readers have reported that the staff was sent home and the restaurant was shut down on Monday, August 24, after a funeral luncheon.

City development officials were not aware of the closing. Tobb Probasco, president of the Palos Area Chamber of Commerce, also was unaware the business had closed.

Prior to becoming Zachary’s Grill the restaurant was called Limestone City Grill.

Kubiak also operated Zach’s On Tap at 12231 S. Harlem Ave. in Palos Heights. That location closed during the pandemic and has since been renamed Johnny’s Rooftop Bar and Grill.

  1. Zachary’s has one of the prettiest outdoor patios in Palos. What a loss to the community! I don’t know if Jody was still in charge, but she always did a fantastic job! Please let us know what happened… Thank you!
