Costco is moving forward with plans to improve traffic flow and parking at its Orland Park location by building a roundabout on Ravinia Avenue on the east side of the massive warehouse.
Trustees recently voted 7-0 to approve a host of measures aimed at helping Costco continue to improve its property and to make things more convenient for customers visiting the store.
As part of its plans to revitalize all of its stores across the country, the giant retailer is also adding 20 gas pumps on the roughly six acres of vacant land it owns east of Ravinia and converting the property where the gas pumps are currently located (on the northwest side of its property) into additional parking.
The company is also adding another entrance/exit on the northwest side of the building.
“Costco is a wonderful part of our community,” said Trustee Cindy Nelson-Katsenes. “People fight for stores like Costco to come into their communities. We are very fortunate.”
She said that in addition to being a great corporate neighbor by providing tax dollars to village coffers, Costco, the village’s largest retailer, has a large workforce and pays its employees (many of whom reside in the community or in nearby communities) a livable wage.
Village Manager George Koczwara said construction is expected to begin in early 2026 on the roundabout and the new gas pumps.

Would it be problematic or an additional solution to extend Ravinia where it curves east to the south of the Costco store all the way to La Grange Road for an additional entry / exit?
That was promised back in the beginning, much of the road was constructed. We all laughed then, the road to nowhere!
