The Glenn Maker Women’s Auxiliary hosted its 12th annual Fall Craft & Vendor Fair on Friday, Aug. 5, bringing together dozens of local vendors, crafters and shoppers for an evening filled with food, raffles and community fun.
The event, held at 10739 S. Ridgeland Ave., featured a variety of handmade crafts, boutique items and specialty goods. For just $1 admission, attendees browsed unique products from local artisans while supporting a fundraiser for veterans at Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital.

A food truck provided savory options, while a bake sale offered homemade goodies prepared by Women’s Auxiliary members. Guests also had the chance to enter raffles throughout the evening, with prizes donated by local businesses and vendors.
“It’s nice to have the community come in,” said Jamie Muersch, event organizer and president of the Women’s Auxiliary. “We made a lot of new friends through events like this and often they end up joining the Women’s Auxiliary and participating in other events.”
Lynn Caputo, of Oak Lawn and owner of Caputo’s Creations, was among the vendors at the fair and said she enjoyed the experience.
“This is my first time being a vendor here and I really like it,” Caputo said. “There’s such a nice crowd of people.”
Muersch said events like the Fall Craft & Vendor Fair highlight the strength of the community.
“This is one of our favorite events because it brings people together,” Muersch said. “It’s a great way to support our vendors and give the community something fun to enjoy.”
