Battery drained
Someone drained a vehicle owner’s battery while his car sat parked in the 9100 block of West 55th Street on April 3. Police are investigating.
Dripping blood mystery solved
Police got an unusual call on April 9: blood was dripping from a parked truck trailer at a business in the 9300 block of West 55th Street.
When officers opened it up, they found the culprit — spoiled meat. They told the driver to dump the contents properly and sent him on his way. No charges filed.
Trouble at The Max
A man was punched in the face at The Max, 47560 Vernon Ave., on April 10 after a heated moment. He said he and his teammates were celebrating a game win when another man walked up ans punched him. The victim didn’t want to press charges.
Speeding driver ditches police
Officers spotted a vehicle speeding in the 8600 block of Joliet Road on April 12 and tried to pull it over. The driver refused to stop, so officers called off the chase.
Brawl at banquet hall
What started as a dance floor mix-up turned into a fight at Crystal Sky Banquets, 7941 W. 47th St., on April 18.
A man said he was dancing with his wife when she started dancing with another man. When he began dancing with a child from a church group at the venue, the child’s father took offense and punched him in the face before leaving.
The victim had facial injuries. Police are still investigating.
Dirt bikers avoid police
Four people on dirt bikes scattered and got away when officers spotted them in a parking lot at East West Road and Sego Drive on April 24. When police turned on their emergency lights, the riders took off in different directions and disappeared.
Seatbelt mix-up ends without charges
An Uber driver called police on April 28 after a male passenger appeared to be touching himself inappropriately during a ride.
When officers tracked down the man by phone, he had a simple explanation: he was struggling with his seatbelt. The driver decided not to press charges.
