A Beecher resident has been charged with six counts of possession and distribution of child pornography.
Jasen N. Zurisk was charged on April 29. Images of children under the ages of 13 and 18 years were found by Will County Sheriff’s deputies during a search of his home. Two of the charges are Class I felonies, and the other four are Class II, according to the criminal complaint filed in Will County Circuit Court on April 30.
Counts I and II involved photos Zurisk allegedly disseminated of a child under the age of 18 in lewd exhibition of a child’s buttocks and breasts.
Count III charges that Zurisk possessed a video of a child under the age of 13 engaged in a sexual act.
Counts IV, V, and VI charge he possessed videos of a child under the age of 18 engaged in sexual acts.
Laura Byrne, Will County Assistant State’s Attorney, said on Friday that “The defendant is not in custody. There is a warrant outstanding. Under the Safe-T-Act, there is no longer cash bail.”
Zurisk reportedly is maintenance director for the City of Chicago Heights. City officials could not be reached for comment.
An individual charged is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
