Stephanie E. “Taffi” Ptaszkowski died peacefully early Sunday morning, May 10, 2026.
A devoted grandmother, she attended all of her six grandsons’ games and was their biggest cheerleader, instilling in them lessons about love and loyalty that will stay with them long after she is gone.
She is survived by her two children, Tamara McHugh and Todd Ptaszkowski; six grandchildren; and two siblings, Christine Ciechna and Tess Nowak. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Esther Turczyn.
A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 19, at 10 a.m. at Two Holy Martyrs Parish St. Symphorosa Church. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery Garden Mausoleum.
Visitation is Monday, May 18, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave., Chicago, and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until prayers at 9:30 a.m.
