A woman was charged with battery and aggravated assault after allegedly threatening another woman with a gun during a dispute inside her home in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, police said.

Chantel T. Smith, 34, of the 6300 block of South Kedzie Avenue, was taken into custody following the incident, which occurred at 11:45 a.m. on Jan. 15. Authorities said Smith pushed a 23-year-old woman during the altercation before allegedly brandishing a handgun and threatening her life.

  1. If the other woman didn’t display a weapon? Then why did she?. As the OG’s would have said: “Duke it out”. Give me a break! Ms. Smith received nothing but a mere push from the other lady. The other woman would probably be dead, if she actually hit Ms. Smith (SMH). Chicago folks are afraid of an old fashion Fist-to-Cuffs. They solve their problems with a Pistol; Not stopping to realize the consequences.
