On November 17, a Peotone Officer conducted a traffic stop at West Crawford and N. First Streets for a vehicle failing to obey a stop sign. Upon the officer speaking with the driver, who appeared glassy eyed and was slurring, the Officer requested his driver’s license and for the subject, Bunger, 56, to step from the vehicle. Upon conducting a field sobriety test, the driver was placed in custody for DUI, transported to Peotone PD for processing, and his vehicle was towed. The driver was issued two citations: Driving under the influence and disobeying a stop sign. He then was released with a notice-to-appear for a future court date.
On November 17, Peotone Police were dispatched to the 500 block of N. Hickory Lane to speak with a complainant in reference to identity theft. Upon meeting with the complainant, he advised he had been contacted by a Title company to confirm the selling of his property. He requested them to stop the sale and forward all documents to him, as he did sell or authorize the sale of property. The Peotone Officer took all pertinent information and copies of documents sent to the complainant and forwarded them to Peotone Investigations for follow-up.
On November 18, Peotone Police were dispatched to Dollar General regarding a customer attempting to pay with counterfeit currency. Upon the Officers arrival, they spoke with the clerk who stated a female customer attempted to pay with a counterfeit $100 bill. The customer was denied the sale and left in a purple SUV. The Peotone Officer took possession of the counterfeit bill for reporting/evidence and advised Investigations for follow-up.
On November 18, a complainant called reporting an older model two-door green Ford truck was flying around the subdivision and spinning tires. The caller advised the driver was a male wearing a red hoodie, and the passenger was a male wearing a tan sweatshirt. Peotone Officers responded to the area, the 700 block of Hickory Street, with negative results locating the vehicle.
On November 24, Peotone Officers were dispatched for the report of a disturbance in the 400 block of South Street. Upon Officers arrival and speaking with parties involved who showed signs of there being a physical altercation, Paramedics were requested to respond. Upon the Paramedics arrival, all parties refused treatment or transport. A female person involved showed visible signs of being struck. A male person involved was taken into custody and transported to Peotone PD and charged with domestic violence. Upon completion of arrest processing, the 46-year-old male was transported to Will County Adult Detention Center to await a pre-trial hearing.
