In an effort to inform the community of current crimes and seek the public’s assistance in pending investigations, the Crete Police Department will attempt to post information related to crimes occurring within the village. This list will include arrests and crimes occurring in the community, but is only a partial list of calls for service, as officers respond to a wide variety of calls, which will not be posted. Remembere: All subjects arrested for crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Crete Police Department responded to 13 traffic accidents during these dates.

August 3

Criminal damage to property was reported in the 1400 block of Vincennes Street.

August 5

Fraud was reported in the 100 block of Denell Drive.

August 6

German Saul Castillo Mendoza, 45, South Chicago Heights, was arrested for no valid driver’s license.

A violation of an order of protection was reported in the 800 block of Huntley Woods Drive.

August 7

Todd Lenoir, 47, Crete, was arrested for criminal damage to property and domestic battery.

Theft was reported in the 1700 block of Dixie Highway.

Criminal trespass to motor vehicle was reported in the 1400 block of Vincennes Street. The vehicle was left unlocked.

August 9

Tanya J. Johnson, 51, Steger, was arrested for no valid driver’s license.

Criminal damage to property was reported in the 1300 block of Liberty Street.

August 11

Timmy H. Owens, 25, Crete, was arrested for domestic battery.

August 12

Electronic harassment was reported in the 1300 block of Main Street.

August 13

Theft was reported in the 500 block of First Street.

Amanda L. Wise, 40, Crete, was arrested for driving while license suspended, aggravated DUI, and obstructing identification after providing officers with a false name.

August 15

Armell M. Lloyd, 24, Hazel Crest, was arrested for driving while license suspended.

Criminal damage to property was reported in the 400 block of Herman Street.

Violation of an order of protection was reported in the 400 block of Herman Street.

August 17

Burglary was reported in the 3400 block of Eagle’s Nest Drive.

August 19

Burglary from motor vehicle was reported in the 1100 block of Robert Lane.  The vehicle was left unlocked.

Juan C. Sanchez, 54, Calumet City, was arrested for driving while license revoked.

August 20

Demontay W. Williams, 27, Chicago, was arrested for driving while license suspended.

Burglary from motor vehicle was reported in the 3600 block of Edward Drive. The vehicle was left unlocked.

August 26

Retail theft was reported in the 1100 block of East Exchange Street.

August 29

Mitchell E. Pritchard, 44, Crown Point, Indiana, was arrested for driving while license suspended.

August 30

Todd Lenoir, 47, Crete, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Burglary was reported in the 1700 block of Dixie Highway.
