
The Lyons Township Democratic Organization held their annual Fall Fest this past Saturday.
It took place from 11:00AM-1:00PM outside of their headquarters at 63rd Street and Archer Road in Summit.
They welcomed approximately 300 people to the event and this year was no disappointment.
Food was a plenty with grilled burgers, italian sausage, and hot dogs.
Tacos were also made fresh during the event.
For the kids and adults with a sweet tooth, there was an ice cream truck, cookies and brownies.
Beer, wine, soda and water were available.

Bingo was a big hit once again, and the kids had an area to do crafts and decorate pumpkins for trophies.
There was face painting and balloon art for the kids, and Isabella Getty, daughter of Supervisor Getty had her ‘Squeeze Girls’ lemonade stand set up for donations to be donated to the Village of Lyons Fire Department.
The band Charles and Company, who are always a big hit entertained again for the third year in a row.
Township Democratic leaders, including Township Committeman and Bridgeview Mayor Steven Landek, Township Supervisor and Lyons Mayor Christoper Getty, Township Clerk Elyse Hoffenberg, Township Trustees Colleen Kelly and Mark Anderson, and Lyons Township Treasurer of Scholls Ken Getty Jr., were on hand.
State Senator Mike Porfirio, State Treasurer Michael Frerichs, Cook County Commissioner Frank Aguilar, Democratic candidate for Clerk of the Circuit Court Mariyana Spyropoulos, Richard Pellegrino of the West Central Municipal Conference, Summit Mayor Sergio Rodriguez, Judge Mike Chvatal, Judge Koula Fornier, Judge elect Pat Heery, retired Judge Russ Hartigan, retired Judge and former longtime Township Attorney Ed King, and handfuls of village trustees and various board members all gathered for a fun afternoon to support their Democratic party.
The event was emceed by Roberts Park Fire Protection District President Brian Bernardoni.
Supervisor Chris Getty was pleased with how the afternoon went.
“Our Annual Democratic Fall Fest was a great display of our wide ranging coalition of Democratic leaders from across the Township gaterhing over good food and great company outside of our Democratic Headquarters in Summit. This event has grown to really embrace families and strengthen our bonds together. I’m thankful to all who attended and each one of our many volunteers who helped make this event a success.”
