OUTLOOK: Shepard is coming off of back-to-back losing seasons for the first time since 2013 and 2014.
Head coach John Rone feels strongly that a wealth of returning players should contribute to success.
Astros offensive returning starters include Jason Crowe (OL), Aaron Reynolds (OL), and Javier Young (OL).
Returning starters on defense are Zion Carter (DT), Zion Coles (DB) Angelo Fuller (DB), Rod Garcia (LB) and Chris Stavrakis (DT).
Two-way returning players include Anthony Loughran (RB/S) and Cameren Tryon (WR/CB).
Senior Noah Vaughn, a transfer from Bremen, takes over at quarterback. Another newcomer is junior tight end Billy Massey, who could see some time on defense as well.
