Dr. MaLinda Majoch began her career with Community High School District 218 over a decade ago.

Her venture began in August of 2003 when she took on a role as a Social Worker at Richards High School, 10601 Central Ave., Oak Lawn. She then moved on to be the Small Learning Community Facilitator at Richards in 2009, the Assistant Principal at Richards in 2009, the Associate Principal at Richards in 2012, the Associate Principal at Shepard in 2014, the Community High School District 218 (CHSD 218) Director of Grants and Community Engagement in 2015 and the Associate Principal at Eisenhower in 2017.

Proudly, as of July 1, Majoch’s title is the highest yet, as she is now the principal at Richards.

“I am looking forward to working with our amazing staff to provide the best possible academic experience for our students,” Majoch, of Evergreen Park, said.

Majoch, a graduate from Illinois State University obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work before attending Loyola University Chicago where she earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work. She then went on to Concordia University Chicago where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and finally concluding her educational journey with a Doctorate Degreen from Concordia University Chicago in Educational Leadership

Her strong background made her an excellent candidate for the position as principal at Richards and Majoch is excited where her endeavors have led her.

“Richards has a rich history and strong traditions. What I enjoy the most is the diversity, which makes our school feel like home away from home for our students,” Majoch said.

She is succeeding Dr. Mike Jacobson, who is now the new Executive Director of Student, Family and Community Engagement for District 218.

Majoch said she is happy to return to her old stomping grounds at the Oak Lawn high school and is looking forward to building upon the strong foundation and history that makes Richards special.

“It has been 10 years since I was at Richards, so I want to take time to get to know the staff, students and families,” she said. “I also intend to get into classrooms, attend our students’ extracurricular events, and provide support to our faculty. I am excited and grateful to be back at Richards, it is full circle for me at this time in my career. As everyone at Richards knows, ‘Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog.’”
