On July 15, at approximately 12 p.m., Monee Officers responded to a report of two Volvo Semi-Tractors missing from the Pilot Travel Center north lot. Upon the officers’ arrival, they met with the truck owner, who stated the trucks were parked in the lot after two employees were relieved of their jobs with the company. On July 17, at approximately 9:56 a.m., Monee Officers were dispatched to 25620 South Cleveland Avenue (Blue Beacon Truck Wash) for a disturbance. Upon their arrival, they were informed by the victim truck driver that his truck was waiting in line to be washed. He took a bathroom break and, when he returned, another truck driver behind him in line tried to cut in front of him but failed. The victim driver attempted to speak with the offending truck driver about why he tried to cut the line but went back to his truck because the offending driver displayed brass knuckles. The victim driver entered his vehicle and, before he could close the driver’s door, the offender driver drove his truck into the open door of the victim driver. The victim driver told officers he wanted to press charges for assault. Joseph Santucci, 40, of Nashua, New Hampshire, was arrested and booked for assault and unlawful use of a weapon. Santucci was released with a notice-to-appear and given copies of his citations.

On July 23, at 2:20 p.m., Monee Officers responded to 5915 W. Monee-Manhattan Road (Petro Travel Center) for a disturbance. Upon their arrival, they met with an Uber driver who said he had a passenger he just dropped off who threatened to” knock him out right now” for asking him to stop using a vape pen in his car. The Uber driver did not want him arrested but asked Monee Police to speak with him. After the officers talked to the passenger who made the threat, they discovered he had an active no-bond warrant from the Cook County Sheriff’s Police for “battery with intent to cause bodily harm.” The Monee Officers took Darnell Higgins, 25, of Villa Park, into custody and transported him to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
