Subject: Important Notice: Increased Speed Enforcement by Peotone Police

Dear Peotone Community,

The Peotone Police Department is pleased to inform you that our officers will be participating in an Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) grant aimed at enhancing speed enforcement within our community.

Starting this week, you may notice an increased presence of officers on our roads, specifically targeting speeding violations. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents and visitors in Peotone.

As we embark on this campaign, we would like to remind everyone of a few important safety tips:

1. Drive Within the Speed Limit: Adhering to posted speed limits helps prevent accidents and ensures a safer environment for everyone on the road.
2. Wear Your Seatbelt: Always buckle up, regardless of your seating position in the vehicle. Seatbelts save lives and reduce the risk of serious injury in the event of an accident.
3. Stay Focused: Avoid distractions while driving. Keep your attention on the road and be mindful of your surroundings.
4. Follow Traffic Signals: Obey all traffic signals and signs. They are in place to maintain order and safety on our roads.

Your cooperation and adherence to these guidelines are greatly appreciated. Together, we can make Peotone a safer place for all. If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact the Peotone Police Department.

Thank you for your attention and commitment to road safety.

Stay safe,

David DeMik
Chief of Police
Peotone Police Department
