At the Monday, June 17, Frankfort Village Board meeting, trustees approved the awarding of a contract to P.T. Farro Construction for the village’s water main replacement program.
This year’s program includes water main improvements in two separate locations, including S. Walnut Ridge Court/S. Butternut Circle (Butternut Woods Subdivision) and Kansas Street (between Ash and Oak Streets). The village received bids from three contractors for the water main improvements. The lowest bidder was P.T. Ferro Construction, in the amount of $1,193,383.
In other business, the Frankfort Village Board approved a request from Supt. Terry Kestel to purchase a new I-ton pickup truck for the Public Works fleet to replace an existing truck with mechanical issues. Staff received discounted government pricing from Currie Motors and Phillips Chevrolet for an I-ton pickup truck, with comparable options. Supt. Kestel sought approval to accept the low quoted price and purchase a 2025 Chevrolet 3500 from Phillips Chevrolet in the amount of $49,623.03.
The board also approved the purchase of a truck for snow removal. Supt. Kestel asked the board for permission to purchase a 2024 International HV507 truck equipped with snow removal equipment to replace an existing 2.5-ton dump truck with mechanical issues. Staff received competitive bid pricing from Rush Truck Center and Monroe Truck Equipment through the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Program for the dump truck chassis and snow equipment. The cost of the fully equipped vehicle is $244,079.07.
