Saturday, June 8, was a big day for Aidan Steffan and St. Joseph Church, as it was the dedication of the Saint Joseph shelter, which was built behind the church in Manteno. The project was organized and engineered by Aidan, from Manteno Boy Scout Troop 382, for his Eagle Scout project.
In addition to all the time involved constructing the project, the estimated cost of the shelter was approximately $18,000. Through the generosity of the community, all materials were donated by 18 area business and organizations, in addition to individual contributions. Those benefactors also were recognized at the ceremony. Congratulations on a job well done and on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, Aidan!
