Lyons water polo teams splash to state

Both of Lyons water polo team qualified for the state quarterfinals.
Lyons’ girls water polo team won its own sectional by beating Mother McAuley, 13-9, in the title game on May 11.
The Lions will face York in the state quarterfinals on May 17 at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire.
This is the sixth time the girls team made it to state. It won a state title in 2010.
The boys team brother Rice, 16-6, May 11 in its own sectional. The Lions face New Trier on May 16 at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire. This is the 14th time the boys made it to the quarterfinals and won state titles in 2012 and 2015.
