John Broderick, 90, longtime resident of Summit, passed away January 29.
He was the beloved husband of the late Rita Broderick; loving father of Monica Broderick (Tim) and the late Debbie Salvaggio; dear grandfather of Ricky (Al Rendak) Medina and Nick (Jessie) Medina; proud great grandfather of Dylan, Tyler and Allison; fond brother of Kathleen (late Patrick) Moore, Thomas (Mary) Broderick, Patrick (Linda) Broderick, Monica (Patrick) Lally, Joan (late Patrick) Heneghan, the late Mary (late Tom) Scollard, late Peggy (late Larry) O’Connell, late Dennis (Judy) Broderick, late Eddie (late Maureen) Broderick, late James (Bridget) Broderick and the late Betty Broderick. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.
John was a most amiable man who so enjoyed being a bartender at Windy Inn and at Carriage Greens Country Club where he made many friends.
Visitation was held February 2 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave., Summit. Funeral services were held February 3 at St. Daniel the Prophet Church. John was laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Patricia A Burkhardt passed away peacefully the morning of January 27 with her loving family at her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Burkhardt and the late Andrew H. Mueller; loving mother of Thomas (Lore) Mueller, William (Kristi) Mueller and Mary (Jack) Sonta; proud grandmother of Christine Van Lake, Andrew (Caitlin) Mueller, Kaiti Mueller, Sarah Mueller, Elisabeth (Mark) Korpics and Andrew (Montana) Sonta; loving great grandmother of Morgan, Chase, Mackenzi and Isla. Patricia was preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses, James Mc Cormack, Bernice and Eugene Hoffman and Jerry and Mary Lu McCormack. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Patricia was a faithful member of St. Joseph Ladies of the Rosary.
Visitation was held February 1 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave., Summit. Funeral services were held February 2 at St. Patricia Church. Patricia was laid to rest next to her first husband, Andrew at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Alicia will be remembered lovingly by her many nieces, nephew, great nieces and great nephews.

CARLOS AUGUSTO LEMUS
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce that U.S. Marine Corps veteran, CPL Carlos Augusto Lemus passed away unexpectedly in San Diego on January 14.
He was the dearly loved husband of Johanna Talamantes and a devoted father of Diego Luka Lemus; cherished son of Carlos and Maria Alejandrina Lemus; much loved brother of Alejandra (Cristian) Pardo and loving uncle of Leonel Pardo. Carlos was truly loved by his many aunts, uncles, and cousins and he will be terribly missed by all his friends, teachers, coaches, and everyone he met.
Carlos was a remarkable young man who accomplished much in his 22 years on this earth. Whatever Carlos did, he did with compassion and integrity. He grew up in the Brighton Park Community and after graduating from Hubbard High School in 2019, he joined the Marines and proudly and honorably served our country for four years. After discharge, Carlos and Johanna and their young son, Diego, settled in San Diego where he was employed as an aviation mechanic. His legacy of love, service, and kindness will continue to inspire and uplift all who had the privilege of knowing him. We pray his soul now rests in eternal peace.
Family and friends met January 27 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3745 S. Paulina St., Chicago for a Mass of Resurrection for Carlos. Procession from the church to Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave., Summit. Carlos was acknowledged with Military Honors that evening.
HOWARD C. RUDNICK
Howard C. Rudnick, of Palos Hills, passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2024. He was 62 years old, and his heart was worn and tired. Our family is devastated and shocked by this deep loss.
Howard was born to Margaret and Gerald Rudnick on December 18, 1961, in Evergreen Park. A stridently independent personality, Howard led a simple life close to home and family.
Throughout his life, Howard helped others with his innate gifts of extraordinary handyman and master mechanical skills. He was happiest when solving complex challenges that bettered the lives of those nearest and dearest, as It was the way his big heart expressed his love and support.
Howard treasured his time with family and friends, summers in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, his beloved cats, tending to the family garden and grounds, trips up north to Canada, and pursuing a range of hobbies from speed boats to model trains.
Howard will be dearly missed and always remembered as a very devoted son to his mother, a good brother to his siblings and uncle to his nieces and nephews, a friend to many, and our family’s very own MacGyver.
Howard was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Rudnick. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Rudnick, sisters Kathy (Don) Miller, and Nancy Carlstrom, and brothers Gerald (Diane) Rudnick, Kenneth Rudnick, Ronald (Carolyn) Rudnick and Jeffrey Rudnick.
No services will take place, as Howard requested, but we deeply appreciate your love and support during this difficult time.
