LemusCARLOS AUGUSTO LEMUS

Flag FuneralIt is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce that U.S. Marine Corps veteran, CPL Carlos Augusto Lemus passed away unexpectedly in San Diego on January 14.

He was the dearly loved husband of Johanna Talamantes and a devoted father of Diego Luka Lemus; cherished son of Carlos and Maria Alejandrina Lemus; much loved brother of Alejandra (Cristian) Pardo and loving uncle of Leonel Pardo. Carlos was truly loved by his many aunts, uncles, and cousins and he will be terribly missed by all his friends, teachers, coaches, and everyone he met.

Carlos was a remarkable young man who accomplished much in his 22 years on this earth.  Whatever Carlos did, he did with compassion and integrity. He grew up in the Brighton Park Community and after graduating from Hubbard High School in 2019, he joined the Marines and proudly and honorably served our country for four years. After discharge, Carlos and Johanna and their young son, Diego, settled in San Diego where he was employed as an aviation mechanic. His legacy of love, service, and kindness will continue to inspire and uplift all who had the privilege of knowing him. We pray his soul now rests in eternal peace.

Family and friends met January 27 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3745 S. Paulina St., Chicago for a Mass of Resurrection for Carlos. Procession from the church to Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave., Summit. Carlos was acknowledged with Military Honors that evening.

Howard C. Rudnick, of Palos Hills, passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2024. He was 62 years old, and his heart was worn and tired. Our family is devastated and shocked by this deep loss.

Howard treasured his time with family and friends, summers in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, his beloved cats, tending to the family garden and grounds, trips up north to Canada, and pursuing a range of hobbies from speed boats to model trains.

Howard will be dearly missed and always remembered as a very devoted son to his mother, a good brother to his siblings and uncle to his nieces and nephews, a friend to many, and our family’s very own MacGyver.
