In a heartwarming display of community spirit, students from St. Albert the Great School in Burbank came together to make a significant donation to Burbank’s New Therapeutic Center A Center Of Hope AERO Special Education Cooperative.
Fifth-grade students collected donations and ordered therapeutic toys. Some students have siblings that attend AERO and their goal was to instill a sense of compassion and giving among the student body.
The event not only demonstrated the power of collective action but also taught valuable lessons about the importance of giving back to the community. Students then delivered the new therapeutic toys to AERO. The thoughtful gesture aims to provide comfort and support to the students and to enhance their learning and well-being through play. St. Albert the Great students selected toys designed to promote sensory stimulation, motor skills development, and overall emotional well-being. Students from St. Alberts said they felt happiness to know that the students will be joyful to play with their new toys.
This act of kindness goes beyond the immediate joy it brings; it serves as a reminder that even small gestures can have a profound impact on the lives of others.
St. Albert the Great teacher, Mrs. Sinickas said, “I am so incredibly proud of these five students. This came about from a discussion at recess. The students approached me about creating a fundraiser for AERO. The students demonstrated true kindness and compassion for others.”
The generous donation reflects St. Albert the Great School’s commitment to community service, showing that a united effort can make a significant difference.
St. Albert the Great School educates students in from preschool through eighth-grade.
The school will hold its annual Open House from January 28-February 2.
