Will County Clerk Lauren Staley Ferry held a lottery on Wednesday, December 13, to determine which candidates will appear in the top ballot position in certain races in the March 19, Primary Election.
The lottery, held in the Will County Board Room, involved those candidates who filed petitions simultaneously at the start of the business day on November 27, which was the first day to file candidate petitions.
When two or more petitions are received simultaneously for the same office and party, as of the opening hour of the filing period, the Election Authority shall break ties and determine the order of filing by means of a lottery, according to Illinois State Statute: (10 ILCS 5/7-12(6)).
The Will County Clerk’s Office held a lottery for Countywide, County Board, and Precinct Committeeperson offices. The lottery for all statewide and federal offices will be conducted by the Illinois State Board of Elections.

- Will County Board District 6 (Democratic) Herbert Brooks Jr., Janet Diaz, and Denise E. Winfrey
- Will County Board District 7 (Democratic) Dawn L. Bullock and David Lozano
- Will County Board Member District 10 (Democratic) Kelly Hickey and Meta Mueller
- Will County Board District 10 (Republican) Julie Berkowicz and David J. Scriven-Young
- Homer 2 Precinct Committeeperson (Republican) David Buckley and Carmen J. Maurella III
- Homer 6 Precinct Committeeperson (Republican) Stephen J. Balich and Tami O’Brien
- Homer 14 Precinct Committeeperson (Republican) Teresa Lacek and Brad Oedzes
- Homer 18 Precinct Committeeperson (Republican) Lisa Molnar and Brent Porfilio
- Joliet 17 Precinct Committeeperson (Democratic) Natalie Cisneros and Daniel L. Vera
- Joliet 21 Precinct Committeeperson (Democratic) Trista Brown (-Graves) and Doug Kasper.
