Ryszard Zdzislaw Baran passed away October 4, at the age of 68 in Hinsdale, Illinois. After being hospitalized for over two months, he finally succumbed to his illnesses and ended his battle peacefully surrounded by family.

Ryszard leaves to mourn his wife of 45 years, Gabriela; daughter, Joanna (Lukasz) Glazer of Bridgeview, IL; son, Jeffrey (Rachel) Baran of West Dundee, IL; grandchildren, Dominik and Alexandria; sister, Elzbieta; brother, Waclaw (Anna); sister-in-law Dorota, and many more dear relatives and friends. Ryszard joins in heaven his parents, Tadeusz and Stefania; brother, Stanislaw; and sister, Marias. Also, his father and mother-in-law, Bernard and Rita Kordon.

He was an Army veteran.

He was the beloved husband of the late Marilyn Boge; devoted son of the late Stephen and the late Estelle nee Jankowski; loving father of Nancy Wright and Ronald Boge Jr.; cherished grandfather of Lynn (Brian) Pauls, David (Josie Belter) Wright and Veronica Salamanca; dearest great-grandfather of Kaydence, Madelyn and Brianna Pauls, Natalia, Steven, Joseph and Nathaniel Salamanca; dear brother of Marilyn (the late James) Harmon and the late Stephan (the late Dee) Boge Jr.;  kind uncle and friend to many.

Family and friends gathered for visitation and funeral services on October 14 at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 Southwest Hwy., Palos Hills. Interment was private.

Sally A. Echavarria passed away peacefully at home October 11.

She was the beloved wife for 26 years to Salvador Echavarria; loving mother of Anna Yousef (Tayseer), the late Alejandro Aguirre, Rubi Aguirre (Jeanette Gonzalez), Evelyn Aguirre (Cordero) and Kassandra Mendoza; proud grandmother of Joanna, Maryam, Adel, Aya , Jacob, Tanijah, Elijah, Corvell, Angelo, Jayla, Anayi, Isaly and Zamaiah; great grandmother of Azariah; dear sister of Robert (Sylvia), Joe Daniel, Claudia (Sergio), Debra (Felix), Betty and  Rosemary (Gilberto). Sally will be lovingly missed by her many nieces and nephews.  Sally loved life and lived each moment to the fullest. She was the life of the party, loved to entertain, cook delicious meals, listen to music, to dance and to sing. Smart, funny, outspoken, she was deeply loved and will be dearly missed and remembered lovingly with a smile in everyone’s heart.

Visitation was held October 17 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave.95th street just west of Harlem). Visitation October 18 at the funeral home until time of Prayers. Procession from the funeral home to St. Rita of Cascia Church for Mass. Sally was laid to rest near her son and mother at St. Mary Cemetery.

Helen J. Felsenthal, nee Jansen, 81, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

She was the beloved wife of Ed.  Loving mother of Mary Fran (Jim) Schroeder, Edie (Joe) Korn, Susan (Tim) Patno, Carol (Dan) Schroeder, and Amy Loeding.  Cherished grandmother of Daniel, James, Kevin, Timothy, Zachary, Maggie, Katie, Brian, Megan, Emma, Tyler, and Jacob.  Dear Great-Grandmother of Lucy, Jack, Emma, Charlotte, and Gianna.  Fond sister of Marguerite and the late Janet.  Dear aunt, cousin, and friend of many.

Visitation is Thursday, October 19, from 3-8 p.m. Funeral will be Friday, with Chapel Prayers beginning at 9:15 a.m. at the Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th Street, Crestwood, to St. Alexander Church, 7025 W. 126th Street, Palos Heights, for a 10 a.m. Mass.  Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip.

Joseph Maloney, 98, of County Sligo, Ireland, has passed away.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (nee Lavin). Devoted father of John (Mary), James (Judy), Joe (Lisa) and Peg (Ben) Lynch. Dear grandfather of 13 and great grandfather of 1.

He had many years of service with CTA.

He was the beloved husband of Marilyn; dear father of Raquel. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Sr. and Dorothy Mascheri. Loving Brother of Alan, Raymond, Richard, Michael, Anthony, Robert and Angie; dear brother-in-law of Paula (Dr. Gary), George and Michael. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Frank will be missed by his beloved companion dog, Frannie.

Visitation was held October 7 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem). Procession from the funeral home to Queen of Heaven Cemetery where Frank was laid to rest with Graveside services and Military Honors.

Flag FuneralHenry A. Pierzchalski, U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, retired Chicago Police Officer, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was the much-loved husband for 46 years to the love of his life, Carmen Del Valle; beloved father of Anthony (Christina) Pierzchalski, Andrew Pierzchalski C.P.D., and Angela (Michael) Cipolla; proud grandfather of Leah and Cara; dear brother of Joseph Pierzchalski, Richard (Lois) Pierzchalski, Constance Pierzchalski and the late Charles Pierzchalski. Henry will be missed by his many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. He was a proud and loyal member of the Knights SAC.

Visitation was held October 13 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem). Visitation at the funeral home October 14 until time of Prayers. Procession from the funeral home to St. Daniel the Prophet Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Henry will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.

James Susic, age 89, passed away October 7.

Beloved husband of the late Adrienne H. Susic (nee Jurgonski); loving father of James Jr., Jacqueline Koustrup, Joseph (Lisa) and John; fond father-in-law of Steven Koustrup; dear Papa of Adrian and Darian Susic; cherished brother of the late William (the late Sheila) and the late Anthony (Nora); also nieces and nephews.  Jim was an avid golfer and bowler.  He loved the Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks.  He was a member of the Golden GM’s Retiree Club, a member of Sloboda Lodge 32 of the Croatian Fraternal Union for 60+ years, director of Timberlake Park Board and Civic Association, former board member of  LaGrange Hospital, and original founding family of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.  Jim also loved music (specifically Croatian Music) and was the former bass player for Eddie Rock Quartet and the Polka Dots.

Funeral was held October 12 from Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation was held October 11. Delia O. Villalpando passed away peacefully October 10.

She was the beloved wife for 53 years to Jesus Villalpando; loving mother of Jose E. (Sandra) Villalpando, Maria (Martin) Medina, Martha (Jose) Hinojosa, Adolfo Villalpando and Luis (Maria Gonzalez) Villalpando; proud grandmother of Jose E. Jr., Raul, Victor M., Crystal, Christina, Martin, Reginaldo, Maria Gl, Jose Jr., Rafael, Juan M., Julian, Sebastian, Lizette I., and Javier A; great grandmother of Isaly, Misael, Violet, Aaliyah and Christopher Z; dear sister of Benito, Carlota, Romelia, Remeberto, Elvia and the late, Raul, late Ramon, late Luisa, late Socorro. Fond Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Delia enjoyed gardening and loved the beauty of nature and sharing with her children the joy of the outdoors. They have wonderful memories of going apple and blueberry picking, planting tomatoes and vegetables with their mom. She was a wonderful cook and was always concerned about making sure everyone had a good meal to eat. Delia instilled in her children the importance of working hard and always doing a good job. She was much loved and will always be remembered.
