Here’s some good news. I was driving east on 63rd Street on June 7 and saw that work is being done under the viaduct at Central Park Avenue.
There was scaffolding and tarps and other equipment. It looks like serious repairs are being done and not just some paint being brushed on over peeling paint, which was the case the last time work was done there.
I’ve noticed an increase in police car presence under the viaducts, which has resulted in less graffiti. Thank you to our guys and gals in blue.

Hubby and I went out for brunch a few days ago. We went to our usual spot at Top View Restaurant at 4715 W. 63rd St. They have a new, updated menu with a fresh focus on breakfast and lunch offerings.
I was very happy with my poached eggs over spinach and English muffins. Hubby got eggs, meat and pancakes and hash browns, which were cooked to order, just the way he likes them. Great coffee, too! Our server was super friendly as is the whole staff at Top View. Hours are 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
I’m grateful for all of the kind readers of my column and for the lovely weather we’ve been having.
