Maria Aguilar passed away peacefully at home July 7 with her loving family by her side.

Cherished mother of Jose (Linda) Aguilar, Martin (Maria) Aguilar and Jonathan Aguilar; much loved grandmother of Joel, Oliver, Alain, Alexa and Emily; beloved daughter of Guadalupe and the late Florentino Ramirez; Maria will be remembered dearly by her many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held July 13 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem). Visitation at the funeral home July 14 until time of Prayers. Procession from the funeral home to St. Gall Church for a Mass of Christian burial. Maria will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery.

Procession from the funeral home to Our Lady of Fatima Church for Mass. Per his request, Arturo will be cremated, and his final resting place will be at Resurrection Cemetery at a later date.

Jeanne Boyle (nee Heroux), 91, of Manhattan, passed away at Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet on July 15, 2023, with her loving family at her side.

She is survived by her children Dorothy (Mark) Thompson, Sharon (Doug) Woods, William E. (Cheryl) Boyle III, Patrick Boyle, John (Cathy) Boyle, Mary Jeanne Boyle, and Kathy (Mike) May, her grandchildren Donald (Heather) Thompson, Brian (Niki) Thompson, Kevin (Natalie) Thompson, Robert (Nicole) Thompson, Jeremy (Kim) Woods, Thomas (Aria) Woods, Amanda (Donald) West, William E. Boyle IV, Jaclyn (Shawn) Bukas, Randall (Mollie) Boyle, Russell Boyle, Shawn Boyle, Colleen (Dan) Fasullo, John (Ashley) Boyle, Catie Boyle, Cass Murphy, Robin (Brett) Schulz, Michael (Renee) May, Nick (Lauren) May, Christian May, Angela (Nate) Rock and Michael Boyle, twenty-four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Dorothy (nee Macklin) Heroux, her husband William Boyle Jr. (2003), her son Michael Joseph Boyle, and her siblings Tom Heroux, Dot Credeen, and Mike Heroux and her faithful canine companion “Coco.”

Jeanne graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, and with her master’s degree from National College of Education in Evanston. She taught and was the librarian for Chippewa School and Crab Orchard in Palos Heights and for the Manhattan Public Library.

Jeanne loved books and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed watching the Chicago Blackhawks, Bears and Cubs, traveling and the opera to name a few.

Visitation will take place on Friday, July 21, from 4-8 p.m. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place July 22 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 235 W. North St., Manhattan, for 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Manhattan.

REV. WILLIAM J. FINNEGAN

Rev. William J. Finnegan, 92, passed away on July 13.

He was pastor emeritus at Our Lady of the Woods Church in Orland Park.

He was the devoted son of the late William and Jennie (nee Reedy) Finnegan. Loving brother of the late Rev. John Finnegan, Thomas (Toni) Finnegan, and Mary (late John) Discher. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.

He was the former Associate Pastor at St. Joachim Church, St. Margaret of Scotland Church and Sacred Heart Church. Chaplin at Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy School.

In retirement, he resided at Infant Jesus of Prague Church and St. Michael Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 20, from 4-8 p.m. and Friday, July 21, at 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Woods Church, 10731 W. 131st Street, Orland Park. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Cherished father of Anayeli Fuentes (Hubaldo) and Areli Fuentes (Eliseo); much loved grandfather of Emiliano, Camila, Valeria  Leon; beloved son of Miguel and Isidora Fuentes; dear brother of Emilio Fuentes, Virginia Fuentes, Antonia Gelacio, Crecencio Fuentes, Reina Fuentes, Alicia Gelacio, Miguel Angel Fuentes, Juan Fuentes, Francisco Fuentes and the late Victoria Fuentes.

ALICE VICTORIA GAVAGHAN

Alice Victoria Gavaghan (nee Klash), 91, of Palos Park, passed away at home with her family around her, on June 16, 2023.

She was born in Chicago on December 21, 1931, to the late Walter and Rose Klash of Hollywood, Florida.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Gavaghan. Dear sister to Thomas Klash (Cynthia Hardy). Adored mother to Karen Scherman and Brian Gavaghan (Irena). Loving grandmother to Virginia Stekala (Dariusz) and Victoria Bomba (Mateusz). Fond great-grandmother to Julia, Andrew, and Milena. Much loved aunt to many.

From the age of 12, Alice worked in her family’s business, Town of Lake Utilities, later working there with her husband Bob, bringing a new vitality to the business.

Alice was a long-time employee of the Chicago Convention Bureau. She had her own boutique at one time in Frankfort.

She also had her own radio program in the 1960s called “Back of the Yards Showcase” where she interviewed local and national celebrities.

Very well-traveled, she loved adventure, laughter and her little dogs. Her beauty, personality and smile won her many friends. She loved movies, opera, and sharing a glass of wine.

Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Visitation on Monday, July 24, at Sacred Heart Church at 10 a.m. until time of Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.

She was the loving mother of Wanda (John “Jack”) Fisher and Mark (Heidi) Yunker. Cherished grandmother of Lenee (Patrick) Hager and the late Tim (Katie) Fisher; Kristen (Ryan) Mars, and Doug (Lexi) Yunker. Dearest great-grandmother of John, Alice, Charlotte, and Sophia; Peyton and baby Yunker soon to be born. Beloved daughter of the late Andrew and Kate Hoekstra. Preceded in death by her siblings Ellen Kooyenga, Cecelia Fennema, Ray Hoekstra, twin sister Joan VanBeveren, and Neil Hoekstra.

Kay was a real estate agent and broker in Orland Park with over 50 years of service.
